Sunday Monthly Restorative Yoga with Elizabeth
A 90-minute practice of grounding, restoration and deep rest — a beautiful way to close your week and prepare for the one ahead.
Join Elizabeth once a month on a Sunday afternoon for a deeply nourishing restorative yoga class, combining grounding exercises, meditation, gentle restorative yoga, essential oils and Yoga Nidra.
With the pace and demands of everyday life, it can be difficult to truly switch off. We can spend much of our time thinking, responding and staying alert, leaving us feeling overstimulated and mentally busy. This class offers a chance to step away from that pace and consciously slow down, supporting the shift towards the parasympathetic side of our nervous system — associated with rest, digestion and recovery.
Yoga, and especially restorative yoga, offers something increasingly rare: time to truly rest without a phone, emails, notifications or the needs of other people. When we remove these distractions, we create space to become more aware of what is happening within us — to notice our breath, our body, our thoughts and our emotions, and simply see what arises.
As we turn our attention inward, we can also begin to create a little space between ourselves and our thoughts, rather than becoming caught up in them. We can settle into the role of the observer — noticing what arises without needing to follow or change it. From this place, a deeper sense of stillness can begin to emerge.
We’ll begin with grounding and meditation before moving into deeply supported restorative poses, using bolsters, blankets and cushions to allow the body to soften with minimal effort. Eye masks are encouraged to reduce external stimulation and deepen this inward journey, while carefully chosen essential oils add to the sensory experience.
We’ll finish with Yoga Nidra and a deep visualisation practice, guiding you into profound relaxation and stillness.
A chance to release the week behind you, restore your energy and create a calmer foundation for the week ahead.
Suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. All props provided.
