Mind, Body & Me Workshop for girls 10-14 - 17th October
The aim is to help them build a small toolkit they can use when they notice tension, worry or overwhelm beginning to build.
What to expect:
A mix of emotional awareness, relaxation and bodybased regulation strategies
Practical exercises including breathing, guided visualisation, grounding and body scans A comfortable set-up using yoga mats, with cushions and blankets available
No special equipment or preparation needed
Comfortable clothing recommended
A small group of up to 8 participants, allowing the workshop to feel calm and contained
A relaxation, wellbeing and body awareness workshop for girls aged 10–14
This is a gentle and engaging 90-minute workshop designed to help girls notice how feelings, worry and overwhelm can show up in the body, and explore simple ways of helping the body settle.
My name is Virginia Veruma and I'm an HCPC-registered Chartered Psychologist with extensive experience working therapeutically with children and young people, and particular expertise in neurodivergence, the session draws on psychological approaches to emotional regulation, body awareness and body-based relaxation.
This is not a group therapy session, and there is no expectation for participants to talk about personal experiences, share feelings with the group, or take part in any particular movement-based activity. Instead, girls will be introduced to practical and accessible ways of noticing their own physical signals and experimenting with strategies such as grounding, breathing, gentle body awareness and relaxation. The aim is to help them build a small toolkit they can use when they notice tension, worry or overwhelm beginning to build. Practical details:
